Bicentennial – The winning logo was created by Jennifer Opperman of Mansfield.

The following schedule of events for the 2008 Bicentennial Celebration is still tentative and may change slightly in the upcoming months. If you would like to volunteer or come to one of the Bicentennial meetings call Downtown Mansfield, Inc at 419-522-0099. The next meetings are scheduled for April 30th and May 28th, 2008. Overview of Mansfield Bicentennial schedule of events to date:
• Davey Field Classic Baseball Game – June 1st
2 p.m. – Vintage Baseball Game with Vintage Dressed Players
– H.S. Baseball game to follow
• Weekend Two, Downtown Festival – Friday-Sunday
Friday June 27th, 2008
– Mansfield Dedication Sign
– Tour of City Building, Downtown businesses, Carrousel, Museum, etc. – Music, Vendors
• Birthday Celebration – June 11th – Bicentennial Park
– Blockhouse Rededication – The birthday party will start at 3 p.m. with the posting of colors by AMVETS. There will be an invocation, proclamations, music and a reading of General Brinkerhoff’s Centennial Speech. At 4 p.m. there will be the cutting of the Birthday Cake by local dignitaries. Afterwards there will be hot dogs, chips, drinks and a kid’s band called the Tenny Shoe-bop Bunny Band. There will be games, face painting, clowns, balloons, a magician and carriage rides.

– Parade – Noon
– Reception at Kingwood Center
– Gala Concert, Renaissance, After Glow
• Mansfield Community Gospel Concert – June 20th

• Weekend One, Heritage Celebration – Fairgrounds
Saturday June 21st, 2008
– 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. – Food, drinks, vendors, music on three stages, including Faces Made for Radio at 4 p.m. and the Caffiends at 7 p.m. (both in the grandstands) Chautauqua, worship, games, crafts, pow-wows, displays, exhibits and more!
• Final Day – Freedom Festival – Mansfield Motorsports Park
Friday July 4th, 2008
– Starts at 9 a.m. – Will be held at Mansfield Motorsports Park and will start with games and entertainment, aircraft flyby’s, vendors and food. The patriotic program will start at 8 p.m. featuring the 555th Ohio Air National Guard Band, the Federated Sousa Band and Fireworks.
